Topic: Fashion Police
Supposedly we have a dress code here at ASPS. Do I know the specifics? No.
Let’s just say Deb just got “talked to” about her choice of wardrobe today our boss. She’s wearing a cute t-shirt with jeans and heels. I guess the shirt was too “t-shirt” for her liking. What?!?
I guess the best part of this is that our boss, bless her ridiculous-self, is a candidate for that TV show “What Not To Wear”. She’s wearing a pair of jeans that are waaaaaay too short, a huge white button-down shirt and a pair of nike gym shoes that have no backs. I guess I can expect that from a lady that once told Deb that she forgot to put a bra on to come to work. Excuse me? You are a director and are suppose to be in charge of a 8 person department and can’t remember undergarments?
Back to the matter at hand. People here wear whatever and I guess it just depends on what your director thinks is appropriate. One girl got talked to by her director about wearing flip flops to work while said director was barefoot. We have one lady here who thinks casual friday means a matching addidas tracksuit. We have a few people that dress everyday like they are going job interviews.
We have one director who wears little boys jeans everyday. He can’t help it that he’s 5’4 I guess, but still.
I do wish we had some people that dressed like they were going clubbing or in some sort of gangster chic.
I never really bother to buy into that whole “dress for success” thing, but to each their own. Maybe our HR people need to step it up and give us a crash course on what to wear.
